Meet our founder
Hoi! Ik ben Shayma, the founder of Eloquence Language Learning and your soon-to-be Dutch teacher. Born and raised in the serene beauty of Friesland, I was lucky to grow up in a home filled with art, music, and languages.
My love for languages took an exciting turn when I lived in Egypt, getting to experience its rich and diverse culture firsthand. Fun fact: while Dutch is my first language, as a kid, I learned Arabic fluently in just six months. This shaped my passion for language and teaching—a passion I’m eager to share with you.
With a degree in Linguistics and over 10 years of teaching experience at renowned institutions, I felt inspired to go beyond conventional classrooms. That’s when I launched Eloquence Language Learning in January 2022 in the Netherlands. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching more than 500 students Dutch and English, tailoring lessons to suit their unique goals. My goal? To make language learning accessible, personalized, and exciting for every student.
